Just found the forum a few days ago, seems pretty lively.

I'm a casual cyclist, I like to use a bike to get around in an urban environment any time I can instead of a car.

I've got a Dahon Vitesse folder and a Specialized Global hybrid. No great mechanical knowledge, though I did amaze myself when I successfully changed a twist grip shifter with no outside help ... and it worked.

Anyways, nice to be here.

Oh yeah, I'm in Ireland.

Welcome to Bike Forums. How is the riding in Ireland? Do you have the same problems with car drives as we do in the U.S.?

Hi there.

How's the riding in Ireland? Hills, lots of them. Can be fairly wet and windy on occasion.

Too many cars, of course. The guy used to run the local bike store got totalled by one on a nice country road 2 years ago. The local bike store is now the local pet food store since his demise! Sad.

On the bright side, I live near the sea, so I can get some great traffic free coastal rides in. Nothing like the sound of the waves to clear your head.

How's the riding in SoCal? My experience there is limited to a fat tyre ride on the boardwalk in La Jolla!
