HOUSTON - Investigators are looking for the driver who hit a young girl riding her bike in West Houston over the weekend.

Police say 6-year-old Leslie Roman was riding her bike in an apartment complex Sunday evening around 6 p.m. when a silver Chrysler PT Cruiser with a black bumper hit her.

Investigators say the driver left the scene without checking on the child's condition.

Roman died from her injuries.http://www.39online.com/news/local/kiah-child-killed-story,0,3080394.story

This ******* should have just stuck around and waited for the police to show up. Here in Houston, you kill a cyclist and they just write you a ticket.

He or she will be in huge trouble when caught.
Manslaughter, hit and run, leaving the scene of an accident...

Failure to Stop and Render Aid is a felony in Texas. Even if the child was at fault in the collision, which IS a possibility here, (not enough info in the story to tell) it is still a felony to leave the leave without stopping to at least attempt to find help for the injured person.

6 y/o and cyclist do not really go together.

Perhaps a kid on a bicycle...I wanna know where the kid's parent(s) were. Not that they could have stopped the incident from happening, but you never know, and 6 is too young to be out, in an area where cars drive, unsupervised.

Apparently her parents assumed that people don't speed through their apartment complex's parking area. In all the apartments I've ever lived in, people routinely zoom through the parking area.

Yeah, he should have just stayed and faced the music like the ass firetruck driver that ran the red light and killed Leigh Boone.
