Help please... am having problems finding a replacement fork for my Klein mantra race.

Dropped off my bike at REI for a tune up and informed them that my forks oem forks (Manitou) appears to be leaking... short story is that there is no longer forks to purchase for my cable pull brakes so I would need to purchase a disc setup along with my new forks… a week later REI calls me to tell me that the Reba Rock Shok that was ordered will not fit my head set due to some sizing issues and a “reducer” is needed. REI cannot seem to find such a reducer…

Can anyone chime in about this?

Thank you

First of all, you can do a linear pull brake not discs. Cheaper, but discs are nice as well. I'm guessing its a 1 inch headset? They tell you you need a fork. They order a fork that won't work. Wow. Take the bike somewhere else. Just sayin'

I don't think Mantras ever had 1". At least some of them had what they called the Airhead Headset. They had a proprietary steerer tube diameter.

Maybe the shocks can be rebuilt, new seals and such?

Maybe if you're nice to this guy, you'll get some help with retrofitting with "normal" shocks, if that's your preference.

Have REI send the fork back to QBP or another company that can rebuild what you have.:bike2:
