Let's see. Where to start? This is all new to me. I haven't participated in any forums until now. But it feels good. Like being part of a community. I recently bought a Trek 7700. Short story related to this. I was trying to decide on a type of bicycle. I had gone to the LBS to look. I liked the hybrids because I was looking for fitness, with plans to ride on the bike path primarily. I'm not young (58) and two years ago had both my knees replaced. (Cycling is a great exercise, no impact) I was interested in the 7200, maybe the 7300, or about that price range. Anyway, I wanted to check the prices on eBay. But I really didn't want to buy from eBay because I wanted to actually look at what I might be buying. I found a Trek 7700 that really looked nice and of course it was used (very little) so the price was in my range. Well it turns out that it was being sold two blocks from my house. The rest is history.

I've really been riding all my life, but most of it is short pleasure rides and walking the dog. It's a great way to get a rather large dog exercise too. I also like to play tennis and after my knee replacements, I needed more than ever to find a better way to exercise. Part of the therapy is to ride a stationary, so why not continue. The Doc said to play only doubles and while that's good, it's not good enough. So cycling can give me the aerobics and the leg strengthening that I need. I must say that I need more discipline in order to maintain a schedule. I'm working on that. But I really enjoy cycling. My wife rides, but not on a fitness regimen, just for pleasure on short rides.

That's it for now. Talk to you in the forum.

Welcome to the Forums neighbor!

Thanks for the welcome. I like your Avatar. I still can't believe the Tampa Bay Lightning. I have been a fan of hockey for a long time going back to the Broad St. bullies (Flyers) when they won The Cup and never would have imagined a win like the Lightnings'. Of course, I had a hard time believing that the Bucs could ever win the Super Bowl too.
