Well I'm new to the grand and exciting world of cycling. I'm sure I may get burned for this but I attribute my interest in the sport to Lance Armstrong. I've been watchin and reading on it for a few years now but never got around to purchasing anything other than the Target special up until three weeks ago. I purchased a slightly used Schwinn Fastback Sport for an easy 350 bucks from a friendly local bike shop. http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=119361986&albumID=2633849&imageID=43511532 http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=119361986&albumID=2633849&imageID=43511532 When I say easy I mean I had to sell my xbox 360 to make up for the lack of money as its the closest thing to a decent road bike I could get on the cheap around here as everyone is buying up road bikes and turning them into single speed hipster transportation devices. There isn't anything wrong with that of course. It just makes it difficult to find a decent bike on the cheap. I didn't mind selling the Xbox 360 as this is a lifestyle change for me that I want to stick with. So far I love the bike and have already logged over 300 miles mostly commuting with the occasional long ride. I hope to improve my riding and maybe just maybe even get competitive in the sport. I look forward to being a part of the forum.

Welcome to Bike Forums. I think you'll get much more mileage out of the Schwinn than your xBox!

Check out the Northern California regional forum for other riders in your area.
