After casually looking for a tandem for my fiancee and I for a few months a friend of mine sent me an email yesterday to tell me he saw this on CL for $125. I was lucky enough to pick it up. It doesnt look like it's ever really been ridden. The only scratches seem to be from moving it around the garage. Seems to be an '84.

I have to put a taller stem in the captains cockpit, and I'll change out the stoker bars (the previous owner had the drops turned around to get a higher position) and throw some brooks saddles on it, but aside from that it is ready to ride. I can't wait to test it out with my fiancee, and next year we'll throw on a kid trailer and have some family outings.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics:

Good find. Looks very nice!
Nice short wheelbase but may be a bit whippy with small diameter steel tubes and no lateral.
Nice Mafac cantis. Downtube shifters could be PIA, could be replaced with barcons.
Ncie classic 2-seater!
Enjoy the ride TWOgether!

High fun/$ ratio.
How unusual is it to have the drive crankset on the front? Two tandem-length chains to buy when the time comes.

there'a a guy in my area with the exact same tandem for sale except he wants $250 and it's been kept outside. Lots and lots of flash rust.

I rode this tandem in the 70's a few times. It's whippy and pretty short in the stoker cabin, but light and fun to ride. Yours looks to be in nice shape. Great find!

I think Bernard Hinault would approve.

Those front bars have some huge drops!
