I'm planning on moving parts from one bike to another, better frame. The donor bike has a Gossamer Mega Exo crankset, but everything I read says that the BB is garbage. Am I right in assuming that the FSA cranks must be used with the proprietary BB? Is there anything else that will work?

Any tricks to this install? Lots more rings than I'm used to, but it seems pretty straightforward.

The Gossamer can use the DuraAce 7900 BB. part for part replacement. It's the K-Force cranks that have no options.
