I've been trying to sell this bike for a couple weeks now and it hasn't moved, and I'm guessing because my price is too high ($550 BIN on ebay, and $450 on CL). But I know these bikes are pretty desirable, it's probably just the 62cm size that reduces the value. So I come to you experts here. What's a fair price for a completely overhauled and mostly original 620?

The crank, front brake, wheelset, saddle, and brake levers are not original. Suntour Cyclone MKII derailleurs. There is a small ding in the top tube, but its not that bad.

I sold this 24 inch 1983 Trek 620 earlier this year without a ding for $375. Included original rear rack, matching bottle holder, original brake levers, original wheelset, original pedals and toe clips, and original crankset. Everything is original other than the brake lever hoods and the seat. Tires were original too, I bet the bike had 100 miles on it or less.

At the time, I thought the price was realistic based on the really sweet deal I got on the bike on ebay for a lot less ( two weeks earlier).

I sold it too cheap, it went super fast. I probably sold mine for $100 under market. Lesson learned. But I think your price is too high, your price would be OK for a spotless, all original version.

FWIW: Your bike looks like a 24 inch frame (61 cm). Next size up was 25 1/2 inch (65 cm). A 25 1/2 inch frame would be worth less (hard to sell the really big sizes). I have not had any problems finding buyers at the 24 inch size.

Just one person's opinion.

Your bike looks a little too modernized next to the wrk101 original. All black tires, black tape & levers. That may hurt the desirability for some buyers.

Well there's another identical 620 on ebay right now with a $799 BIN, and previous to that auction is was listed with a reserve and got up to $590 (without selling). That auction is where I got my price reference from. Plus there was another one, frameset only, that sold for $340.

I'll throw it up again with a cheaper BIN and see what happens. Thanks!

Dents and touchups kill value exponentially.

Not so much the touchup, but the dent it looks to have in the second photo is the real killer. Drops the frame price like a rock. I'll buy a dented frame to play around with (own a couple right now), but I'm not much on investing much $$$ in 'em.

Just for another reference point, the one I pictured above I bought on ebay for $113 earlier this year. ebay pricing is quite variable for sure.

Congrats on the sale, you did well!
