As part of my "thinning" of the herd I was thinking about ebaying my Sprite. I have gotten a little action on it locally but maybe I'm out of touch with the value of the bike.
This particular Sprite probably has less than 20 miles and is as new. I just need to dust it off!
Worth the time for ebay? I know some bikes aren't and the price for a Sprite is all over the map.

Probably worth it, if you can work out a cost effective way to ship it to the US. If you are not careful, shipping cost will be close to market price, at that point, selling on ebay does not work out financially. Problem locally as you have already found out is finding an interested buyer. If you lived in one of the hot markets, then selling locally would work well.

Good luck, great looking Sprite!

It would cost at least $100 to Fedex it to the U.S. And that may be to much for most buyers.

I'm not a Raleigh expert/fanatic but I do like that bike ! Virtually brand new. I've a sprite like that, a white one, very rough, most out there are. The right individual would fancy that bike, it's museum quality. as far as e-bay, if you're inclined to try it, I'll bet it'll sell. As the fellow said; the frt. is prohibitive, this is true. buyers are touchy about ftr., they'll cringe over frt. and at the same time over-pay for the item. I'm only savy enough concerning E-bay as a buyer of many, many bikes & parts. I suggest that you set a HIGH price, I meen HIGH ! keep the frt. at one price fits all (regions) at let's say $75. Check DHL, FedEx, UPS; a bike shop may pack it and can expidite it cheaper and handier than you perhaps. Keep a high reserve & a long posting. Believe me, I've seen entry level Legnanos, Brigestones etc. fetch more than you or some fellow members would believe. I dare say that in Canada or locally the market is narrower than the US at large. Hey, the bike's new, that ALONE is worth the price of admition. Not a hi-lev. model but a very cool rig !
