For thirteen years now, I have absolutely loved this bicycle. It fits. It is comfortable. It is fast. I have upgraded all of the components and I want to continue riding the bike. However, the durometer inside the headshok is shot and there is no replacement available. I would like to know if there is anyone out there with a similar bike that has replaced the headshok and front fork with a fixed fork and how it has affected the bike's geometry. I am thinking a cross fork might get me pretty close, but I am concerned about being able to use the Utegra caliper brake that I have. If I have to go to a cantilever brake, will my lever still work?

Caliper and Canti brakes have the same pull. Don't use a V-brake though.

Good to know. One less thing to think about.
