How many miles would this battery last for?
Is it true that 1ah = 1 mile?

That really depends on how much power your motor and controller use. It also depends on what type of terrain you ride on. For me, a ebikekit.com 500W 48V front hub motor with a 48V SLA pack with a 22A controller, I get just over 2 miles/AH or 0.5AH/mile. My terrain is relatively flat with about 350 feet of elevation in my 8 mile commute. I could have gone with a 10AH pack and been fine for a round trip!

Depends on how much you pedal. With my 36v20ah Ping on Amped with 700x40 tires, hybrid commuter bike, it feels like I can go pretty much forever. Pedaling with throttle, I'm usually seeing around 22-24mph. My commute is ~13.5 round trip and I've done double commutes without charging, plus extra distances towing 50 pounds+ worth of groceries, dog food, etc. No drop in power, no change of throttle light indicator. I think it has a lot to do with my pedaling along with it. Maybe it's just me, but I can't sit on a bike seat and NOT pedal along! Maybe this weekend I'll go for it, just to test how long the battery will actually go on its own. I'm thinking that might be a few dull hours though...
