Not really a vintage bike but there's a 2000 Cannondale R300 triple on my local CL. Seller is asking for $500, sounds right? I know the frame size should be fine or just a tad too small.

Way high price for an nine year old entry level LBS bike.

What will be the reasonable price for it then? $400?

I'd say $400 CAD(?) is probably close. It's an entry level bike, but it's nice and it looks hardly used. Cannondales have been well marketed, so you're never going to steal one.

Take it for a spin and see what it's worth to you. Here's the bikepedia entry on this model: http://www.bikepedia.com/quickbike/BikeSpecs.aspx?Year=2000&Brand=Cannondale&Model=R300+Triple&Type=bike. Looks like MSRP was US$870.

Oh, and if you end up riding it often, plan on new wheels soon. Unfortunately, entry- to mid-level bikes usually come equipped with junk wheels. On the other hand, if your weight is low for your height, they may last a while.

Gave up on the Miyata?

Unless you actually steal one....:p

I think some of the prior bikes you posted were better deals. Just decide what you want, and go for it!! Getting the "best" deal is not always that important. Get what you want.

Just read his other Cannondale thread. Difference is this one has a triple crank with lower gearing. It's also got Sora STI, a pretty nice upgrade. They are entry level STI, but there are fans of Sora.

So, yep, +1 on wrk101's advice - gotta decide what's right for you ahson.

Hi guys, my current Miyata is fine, but would like to have another one with better components and a frame that fits me better. I am trying to see if this seller will actually lower the price a bit and hopefully he will.

Hopefully I can STEAL this one. ;)

Need to make up my mind but it's not easy to have the right price, right frame size.....all at the same time.
