And it was a blast. My brother inlaw and myself did the ride last Thursday and was definatley an experience. Had it's good times and it's bad, never thought of giving up thou. It was actually not as hard as we had inticapted. We left the house at 7am and arrived at cottage 209.5k later at 4:10pm time in saddle was 7h43m. It will become a annual event now and already looking forward to next year. Will make some minor changes to route thou to get away from some traffic but other than that it is a great ride with around 5620' in climbing to keep it interesting. Not sure if I will ever go much farther than this as I'm not really set up for touring and as of right now have no desire to do so. I thnik touring is great but right now I'm more interested in other aspects of cycling.

Good work. I've always had a double metric as a goal of mine, but find it hard enough finding a century (organized or not) to do with friends. I think aside from having the physically ability to ride the longish distances, then next most important factor is having good company to ride with. Have good conversation really takes the mind off the clock and odometer.

It really does help to have good company along.

Congratulations. Less than 8 hours is a great time for a 200k. You don't need a touring bike to go up in mileage, though. You can still do a 300k on a road bike.
