Hey all,
I've been thinking about replacing my old manitou Axel shocks with a set of rigid forks as I'm commuting these days (I haven't ridden XC on this bike for over 3 years now).
The bike is a marin pasilidaes trail from 2005. I love the bike, I'm comfy on it...
the problem with looking for 100m corrected forks is most I have found have parallel disc mounts, whereas on inspection my front disc caliper mounts to the fork horizontally (does this even make sense??). The only fork I've found via internet searches with mounts that look right from the images is the salsa fargo, but they are for 29's and not 26 ers.
Can anybody point me in the right direction for some other forks or is there a conversion kit of sorts so i can mount my caliper to the other style of disc mounts. I'd also appreciate it if somebody could enlighten me on if there is different namings for the side style and horizontal style mounts. I haven't found anything yet, searching the hayes site or the manitou sites. They both simply say 'disc'
Hey, thanks in advance for the help! Look forward to sharing the wisdom on here. It's a great community.
Peace
Stuart
