As a proud owner and rider of a 1975 Monark, and being zillion times more proud father to Franz (two years in a couple of months) what can a father do? Buy him the best! He´s now a member of "the blue team of Monark" (He really had no choice, and chances are he wants to ride Crescent in the future...). :)

Sweet! My son wants a pugsley but they don't make one w/ 20" wheels. There is an approximation w/ 24" wheels but even half-price isn't cheap... (http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/BI281F00-Surly+1X1+Anniversary+Bike.aspx?sc=FRGL)

Your son has his helmet on backward and it should sit level on his head -- like this.

Actually, Franz is a bit too small for his 12´ (european size) bike! But I just had to hurry getting him the Monark before someone in mine or my wifes family surprises us with a "we bought him a bike for Christmas or birthday"....:)

Ron H: Well nah! Its the premium brand Limar and its the smallest size of race-helmet. He usually wears a cap underneath to get a "safe and snug" fit. To my knowledge, you can never fit a kids helmet 100% because they dont want to. But thanks for the concern!

That's part of why I'm getting my 3yo son a nice bike this fall (one that can easily be handed down to my 1yo when they grow).
