Well Timm and DA600, it's not much, but it's the best I've been able to find. It's a little more than a quarter mile, but it gains 4 stories of the Watchtower building in that time. So it's pretty much a little more than 100' straight up. Also it's against traffic and right by the BQE, so you might want to make sure that it's not rush hour when you go.

Combine that with a little coasting down the Prominade to the second exit on the left from the end and there's a smaller shallow grade there as well. Also down in that DUMBO/Fulton Ferry area there's a bunch of cobbles.

But the best surprise came when I went home. After riding the hill more times that I can remember (it's short, but it hurts) I found a street that passes under the BQE heading back towards Atlantic Ave. It's all the way at the end of Old Fulton Street. It's straight and very flat. From there make a left onto Joralemon Street. It's the same 4 story climb, but it's ~ 4-5 blocks long and all old cobbles. It completely wrecked what was left of my legs.

So that's what I've been able to find, let me know if you guys can find any other good climbs for hill repeats.

Here's the cobbles up Joralemon Street in Brooklyn Heights.
For this one you want to ride from Furman Street to Henry Street.

And here's the hill that I call Vinegar Hill, It's kind of between Vinegar Hill/DUMBO and Brooklyn Heights. At the foot of the hill is Grimaldi's and the Brooklyn Ice Cream Shop.
For this one you want to ride from Cadman Plaza West/Old Fulton Street towards Middigah Street.

thanks for the info. i live very close to those streets, yet i rarely venture over there.

fyi, vinegar hill is the name of the neighborhood to the north of dumbo, above bridge street and bound by the navy yard on top. there's an interesting little historic district there with cobblestone streets and old houses and such. all ruined by the giant power plant stuck right on the water.

Oops, I thought it was the neighborhood just south of dumbo, my mistake. Take a ride over and check it out. It took me a while to find it and the ride up Joralemon I just found yesterday, funny cause I live at Clinton and Schermerhorn and my wife and I have friends that live off Joralemon by the bottom of the hill on Columbia Heights. I never even thought about riding up it, the walk up isn't that bad, but when you take into account that it's all cobbles it makes is fairly punishing on the body. That's one of the good things about living in a NYC historic district, lots of cobbles around if you know where to look for them. Let me know what you think about the hills, I'm not much of a climber so they're good enough for me to do repeats on (my legs are still sore from last night).

Oh btw, to all of the Brooklyn and NYC people on the board. I'll be in PP tomorrow night ~7pm if anyone wants to do a quick 5 lap race simulation. Gotta start getting ready for the race on the 21st.
I'll be the guy on this.
