Bicycle Mechanics - Need help with wheel alignment and disk brakes
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
My bike was set up at the bike shop and the rear wheel seems to be misaligned, now when I try to straighten it the disk rubs on the brake caliper. What is the best way to fix this, I donít see any adjustments to slide the caliper. There are two washers where the caliper bolts to the frame are these for alignment? Oh the bike is a jamis dakar xlt 1.0.
Thanks for all help.
If the caliper is installed crooked, then you have to loosen the mounting bolts and align it. It may be that the LBS didn't have the wheel straight when they installed the caliper. Take the bike back and give them another shot at it.
