Road Cycling - IF Ti Crown Jewel under construction

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Well Joe Ingram at IF just sent me pictures of my frame. It has been welded and will be off to be shot peened in a day or two. After that it will just need to be painted. Anyway, here it is!

Here is a closeup of the welds.

Here is a pic of it being weighed. The cable guides still have to be added as well as the sterling silver head badge and paint.

Nice, I'm jealous! :)
What kind of price range do the IF frames fall in? Are we talking Seven pricing here or more/less???
What kind of a paint job are you going with on it?
The cost of this frame is $3300. Without paint is is $3100. There is a $100 upcharge for basic paint and then another $100 for the pearl orange paint I am going with. It is going to be a 3/4 paint job. This price includes a Reynolds Ouza Pro fork (unpainted).

So I take it you are going to leave the fork bare carbon, or are you planning on having it matched to the pearl orange?
How much do you think you will have wrapped up into it when all is said and done? $5k?

Yeah, the fork is going to stay bare carbon. I spoke to IF about painting it but they told me that the carbon fork was always the first thing to have the paint chip so they suggested I just leave it bare. Figured if they recommended I leave it bare then they knew what they were talking about, plus it's and additional $200 to have the fork painted.

I'd be afraid to ride something that expensive :(

I know what you mean, I'm sure I'll be a little nervous on it at first.

I was scared to ride my $1400 custom Davidson 20+ years ago the first day, but I rode it last night for the umpteenth time. It still doesn't have a scratch.
You'll get over it. Enjoy.
