Hello all,
I am a novice when it comes to frame finishes. As I am in the process of looking for someone to refinish one of my frames, I had a few questions.
-What are the different kinds of paint used by frame makers? As I understand it, most of them use water based paint and a few use powder coating. Am I right ?
-How can you visually tell these different kind of paints? Do they have particular aesthetic qualities?
My idea is to have my frame finished in a matte color, this is more and more common on factory bikes (Cannondale Badboy for instance). Is the matte aspect due to the kind of paint or to the way it is applied and to the painting process?
Thanks in advance. I apologize if these questions have been answered before.
