My wife and I know a gentleman who resides on Chebeague Island, population a few hundred, near Portland, Maine. He maintains a fleet of some eighty or ninety bicycles which he lends out for free to anyone who wants to borrow one.
These are just-plain-ordinary family-type bicycles.
He has specialized tools for repairing 3-speed hubs and the like.
After spending a pleasant day enjoying the hospitality of him and his wife, I'd like to present him with a suitable gift. Any ideas? There must be something that someone maintaining eighty bicycles would be bound to need and appreciate...even if it's just something like a gallon of hand-cleaner... Thoughts?
