Electric Bikes - Help figure out my battery situation

So I just got my Amped eBike kit, but my problem is I have no batteries!

I want to go with Amped's 36V 10 AH Phylion Battery pack but I have no cash right now and he is back ordered.

A guy on craigslist has two SLAs for $30 ( SLA Batteries 12v 8aph ), for $30.
Not sure if these would work, but never the less I want to run with some SLAs for the time being until I get my money to get the better battery.

If I were to get the SLA batteries alone, where could I get a rig to hold them together?

2 SLAs will only get you 24V which won't be enough to power your motor. I would also not buy used SLAs unless you can load test them and be sure that they are functioning perfectly, it's also difficult to match a 3rd SLA to two older ones. It's best to buy 3 matching SLAs at the same time to be certain that they will work well together.

As for a big rig, I'm assuming a way to mount them to your bike. The conventional way is to get a heavy duty rear rack and strap them to the rack. I have mine sitting on top of the rack. Some folks put the SLAs into a box or bag to make them less noticeable. Be certain that the rack is sturdy enough to handle the weight!

I would say not to waste your time on the SLA's if you were originally going to go with their Phylions (exact same case as me!). I went to Ping, got the 36v15ah (figuring a little extra distance is probably a good thing) and have not been disappointed at all. No buyers remorse whatsoever, and I'm definitely on a tight budget!
If you can't manage it at all, then get 3 SLA's totalling 36v, then put them in a milk crate or other box hooked to your permanently mounted rear bike rack (you'll want one regardless).
