I want a white tire for my back wheel that is durable enough for skidding. i am currently running serfas secas and they are doing pretty well for my style of riding but they only come in black. i was thinking about getting vittoria rubino pros but i just want to see your guy's suggestions.

For Rear me thinks:
Vittoria Zaffiro (avail in white)
Panaracer Pasela (avail in light gum with white sidwalls. Cool!)

i have these. they're not as white as i thought(a bit more ecru or beige), but look great and hold up to skidz.

i wanted these because they last forever but they only come in 28s and above. i was looking for 23.
I'd run a Randonneur if I had the clearance.
If you can squeeze a 26c, check out the soma. It's not a fully white tire, but worth a look.

i ride vittoria randonneur 700cx28 in the back and if anything, they're actually more like a 25 than a 28. zaffiro's last about a month for me on my skids while randos i've just started my 4th month and they're holding up to the skids.

Really?
I'm pleasantly surprised because the white tires commonly found on kids bikes only last about 1/3 as long as the same thing in black.
Oh lord there's a full shot of that infamous brake lever!

Not to hijack the thread, but.. MysticRats (or anyone), have you ever used the Panaracer Paselas? How do you like them? Coz I was gonna get the cream color tire that you posted but I still can't make up my mind.

I have white tires - cheap ones to boot - and I ride my bike every day. They look used but never look overly 'dirty'.

I've seen white tires a couple times and they look terrible with the dirty black stripe down the middle even though the tire itself isn't very dirty

I have too but for whatever reason, mine don't get like that. Then again, I live in a small beach town. If I were riding in Boston or NYC, it would probably be a different story.

They hold up just fine. (At least the Tour Guard version does.)

Huh, my rear tire lasted around 4-5 months (till it had just squared off, I probably could have rocked it for another month till it blew out completely)...
The front tire took some time off and is now back on, and still has plenty of life left kicking.
All of my Panaracer tires seem to last long.
