So this was my 2nd year active as a racer, and haven't looked into planning this early in the pre-season before. Does anybody know when the 2010 race schedules should start showing up? I have to plan far ahead of time for those RRs out of the way and such.

They might start showing around mid-November. If you just want to get an idea of what races are when, look at the 2009 calendar. Most of the races are on the same weekend each year (Blvd is the first Sat. in Feb, San Luis Rey the first Sat in May, etc.). I wouldn't make set plans using past calendars, but for training it gives you and idea of what is when.

If you need to know the date of a specific race, you could email the club that puts it on and ask them. But they won't know with absolutely certainty when it will be until the SCNCA meeting in the fall.

Hi,

As kuf noted, the schedule won't appear until the annual SCNCA scheduling meeting. I believe that they traditionally hold the meeting in late October. I attended the meeting last year and my recollection is that they published the schedule within about a week of the meeting.

Note that you won't see race fliers until a month or less before the race. The promoting club is responsible for preparing the flier and it seems like that SOP for SoCal.

The deadline to avoid late fees for race permit apps is 6 weeks before the event, and then it takes some time to get approved. Promoters generally won't post the flyer until it's approved.
