Are there grips that extend from the horn all the way into the flat of the bar? If not, what are my options for grips (not tape) on my bullhorns?

Grips on the ends.

So then I would have a grips on the ends and tape on the flats? Seems like a poor option.

I've seen people cut holes into the ends of oury grips, then wriggle them all the way over the bar until they're butted up against the stem. I guess you could stack a few pairs of those on there and you'd have your bullhorns all covered up.

Or two sets of track grips, with the ends trimmed where they join to fit the exact length you need. If done correctly, it looks really clean. My wife's been doing this for quite a while now.

I used to ride with track grips on the ends, left the flat bare. It worked fine, but I do not use bullhorns anymore.
Just tape up the whole bar if you want it to look clean.

i f'in hate when i see bars like that. Not only are they using an incredibly impractical bar for street use, they negate the entire point of those bars, it looks awful(i'm also assuming they use track drops on the street for fashion so it further negates that), and they're gonna take a core sample from their knee in a crash one of these days.
Edit: i guess on second look those bars are plugged. but it still looks stupid.
Double edit: I looked at the other pictures of that bike on his flickr and i kind of feel ill now.

beatifik comes in for the win! Some folks simply prefer the feel of grips over tape and there's nothing wrong with that (I know I do).
I'll be sure to inform the misses about those.

I prefer grips to tape simply because tape is too easily damaged especially when locking the bike up a lot. One little scrape in the tape and it deteriorates quickly into a full on unravelled mess.
Right now I'm using shellac'd cotton tape on my priest bars and it's a happy medium for me. I might try these weird rubber grips for winter riding because I fear that the shellac'd tape may be a bit slippery with gloves.

Yeah, I am having to experience this right now. I crashed twice last week, and my tape on the left side of the handlebar is ****ed at the moment. **** sucks.

ESI Grips ( http://esigrips.com/ ) will custom make their silicone grips into whatever length you need in either their MTB or Road bike diameters.
Last I talked to them, I think it was going to be around 25$ for a set to cover my Soma Sparrows...
I ran grips up top and tape on the horns on my bars, and I'm happy with the way they feel.

I like the feel of cloth tape. When I had bullhorns I had allcity grips on the flats and the horns were covered with cloth tape. Excellent.

suelo tubo or fly fino cut to length bmx grips, buy two, enjoy.
Edit: P.S. I prefer the finos because having flanged grips on pursuit bars is hilarious to me.

Just noticed that those are 30mm diameter and my bars have a 26mm clamp size, which would mean they are even a bit skinnier along where you would actually grip. Seems this grip is too big for my bars then, right?
Leather tape,
I hate the way it looks, but it is durable.

actually the o.d. of bmx bars (i.d. of those grips) is 22.2mm, which is narrower than the o.d. of the gripping area of most road bars.

So, if I understand you, they will fit and actually be a bit tight?
Also, if these will work, whats the best way to install them? I would imagine once you get them on a bit, the surface friction against the bars would build up and make it really hard to keep pushing them onto the bars. Tips?

WD40. Lightly spray your bars and inside of grip, slide the grip on and into position. Let it hang out for a few minutes undisturbed and your grips will be like they're glued on.

What grips are you using on that? They flow nicely into the tape.

Leather tape,
I hate the way it looks, but it is durable.
who wants durable tape? it gets sticky and dirty. a replacement of tape or grips 2-4x a year is great. and leather tends to stretch and creep not to mention shlong-like. too expensive, as well.
I'll never go back to leather.
fizik tape / deda tape
ourys
keirin grips
cork
that's all that matters.

Hair spray and dry overnight is my preferred lubrication/gluing method.

Atrocious.
I used denatured alcohol to install all the track grips iv run. Generously coat the bar and inside the grip with the alcohol, slide grip onto bar, allow to sit. The alcohol evaporates quickly and then there is no mess to clean off the bar when you replace the grips.

i dont know why everyone is suggesting hairspray, wd40, and all those weird ways to get them on. i did the hot soapy water install and it was soooooo easy! just let the grips "marinate" in HOT (not boiling) soapy water for 5 minutes. they should be really pliable by now. work the grips over the tips and start twisting them on. it's still pretty pliable after a few minutes so adjust them accordingly. after a few hours cooling off near the window, the grips should "harden" and shrink to a perfect fit with no loose twists.
i love these grips but the only downside is that my palms get exfoliated if i dont wear gloves. i didn't know the diamond-pattern would be so abrasive! the champ grips appear to have a less aggressive texture.

You don't even have to use soapy water, just boiling them in plain jane water is enough.
That's how I've been doing it.
Also I'd assume the soapy water is why you have to wait hours till they set, I just wait for mine to cool back to room temp, which takes maybe 5-10 minutes.

Actually, I tried the hairspray method last night, since the tape on my ergo drops were screwed, so I wanted to see what the grips I had lying around looked like on them. The hairspray method failed, miserably.
After that, I slid the grips on without anything. It took some elbow grease, but it went on just fine.

Does anyone have any pictures of EXTRA long grips on bullhorns / drops? (Longer than standard track grips) Tape wrapping is a wee-bit tedious (and a wee bit fragile) and I've been toying with the idea of ordering custom length grips. I like having the padding on the tops as well as drops...
PluperfectArson

I was trying to search for pictures of some yesterday, but my search was fruitless.
I might have to try again today, as I would like my bars to be entirely covered, instead of just the drops themselves, since I ride where the hoods would be quite often.

Nah, I did not attempt to put WD-40 under my grips, as that sounds a bit weird to me. :p I did try hairspray, though, and I liked that idea, due to it being sticky underneath afterwards, to hold the grips in place. I ended up using nothing, though.
