I have a hard time finishing a glass or bottle. It just doesn't taste that good.
Mixed drinks, OTOH, I can guzzle those no prob.
I'm not anti-beer, mind you, its just really not my thing.

I'm reporting this post to the mods.
Mixed drinks make me sick. If I want to get black out drunk I'll take shots. If I want to enjoy a drink I'll have wine or beer.

I do like some wines. But most of them taste terribly bitter to me. Much prefer white to red.
I dont drink at all.

Yeah, me. Though I'm not a big drinker (not to mention only 21...so not a connoisseur by any means), beer just doesn't do it for me. I like fake beers or hard ciders like Woodchuck...that's as close to drinking beer as I get.
I'll agree mixed drinks are nice, Vodka is my choice.
As far as wines go, Red is better imo. I had a small glass of Opus one before...smoothest wine I've ever had, it was amazing.

Curious as to why you'd even start a glass or bottle of beer if you don't like the taste.

In my youth, I had plenty of beer, drinks, and a couple other vices. These days though - no alcohol at all.
I vividly recall the first time I tried beer. The stuff was nasty. Same with Gin and Tequila. Absolutely gross and vile.
Beer is the stuff that people drink when they think that they are above the winos in the street quaffing down cheap Ripple.
Wine is the stuff that people drink when they are trying to "outdo" the winos in the class category not realizing that it's the same thing, different label.
Hard liquor is the stuff that people drink when they are trying to kill something. (Like an intestinal worm infestation or their own liver.)
Diet sodas are the stuff that people drink when they are trying to fool themselves into believing that 320 calories per 12 oz's of carbonated liquid is "diet" anything.
Taste be damned, that stuff is NOT good for you.
Me.
I've never really liked the taste of any alcohol.
That's why I survived being a barkeep for so long.
I can appreciate a really good wine with the right food and a Fuller's ESB is palatable. All distilled spirits taste like paint removers, and I don't care to be drunk so I have little use for most all wines and beers except for use in sautes, chilies and other cooking.
I'll pass on the rum cake and those liqueur chocolate things, please, who are they trying to kid with those, nasty.

I hate beer. I also hate wine. Only booze I ever liked was Tequila (weird, I know.)
I can't be arsed to drink anymore. I haven't had as much as a drop in a year and a half.
I just had two bottles of homebrewed stout, as well as a half-bottle of homemade blackberry wine. Don't even get me started on liquor. I can drink vodka like it's water, and whiskey, rum. and brandy are pretty close (but gin is disgusting).
Hi, my name is Taerom, and I'm an alcoholic.

If you don't want to get sick, the trick with mixed drinks is that you shouldn't drink the whole bottle of booze.
With beer, you can safely empty the bottle by yourself without having this problem
I don't really care for beer, either. Of course here in OK, it may have something to do with the 3.2 flavored water that they claim is beer.
I love it. But haven't had any in more than 10 years, since I'm allergic. It makes me break out in handcuffs.

I started out hating beer and loving mixed drinks. In the last few years mixed drinks started to bore me and the wide variety of beers available in CO intrigued me. Beer is just yummy. Beer and cycling are even better. Well... beer after cycling. We need a brewery cycling tour like one I read about back east somewhere.

Are you sure you're a Canadian?
No beer for me either. Can't stand the taste.
Not me. I don't like large quantities of beer but a decent beer or two is nice. My taste buds have improved though; I don't like the cheap and nasty beers anymore.

Hated beer when I first started drinking. Then I liked it. Now I prefer hard cider. Mixed drinks are usually too sweet, but when I do get them I usually order a Caesar or cherry whiskey paralyzer.

Mixed drinks are for sissies.
Yuengling Lager on a hot day. Simple pleasures.
Couldn't stand beer early on. However, what I was exposed to was Bud, Coors, and stuff that should not even be NEAR real beer. I also got bored with mixed drinks, and started to like the sheer variety of beers, ales, meads, and other stuff available. Plus, with beer, you have to work at getting intoxicated. Its a lot easier to drink too much on shots or mixed stuff.
One other thing... when homebrewing, worst that happens is you make stuff that is undrinkable due to infection. This is a lot better than if you goof with a still, make methanol and permanently burn out your optic nerves (a by product of methanol, formic acid, actually polymerizes the optic nerves, makes them unable to transmit signals.)
no alcohol here, diabetic ...

I ate until I almost burst tonight, then washed it down with a schooner of some Oktoberfest microbrew. mmmm.
This week I've had an Oktoberfest, a Modelo and a few Buds.

I'm not a big beer drinker. I do drink wine, as I use it in cooking and just have to drink it to go along with the meal. I also like bourbon and single malt scotch.
I don't drink beer. Too bad my next club ride starts at a brewery (http://www.stonebrew.com/home.asp).

That is also for sissies. A real man would get liquored up on beer and then use the mug.

Since I quit smoking 20 years ago, beer has lost favor as my favorite drink. It really does not taste good at all anymore. Then again, I was young and usually drank it solely for the alcohol content anyway. I drink wine (I make wine) now, with the occasional mixed drink.
