how much would one in decent shape be worth? i love my bike and its in great shape im pretty sure its all original just a schimano derailer and a rack on the back .. if i can make a little off it i could sure use whatever extra money .. and if i decide to keep it id like to know if its worth fixing it up and everything

Without pics, I would not want to guess. The bike is basically entry level, slightly above entry level.

i just put a pic up .. its a little dirty but besides that everything is fine on it basically bought it for 5 bucks from this awesome hippy guy that rode it in parks and stuff for awhile the wheels are perfect everything is great just needs a little more cleaning lol
Looks pretty decent from a distance. $75 to $100, depending on whether it is totally ready to ride (good tires, cables, etc) and the market area you are in. Cottered crank bikes with high ten steel frames, steel rims, and french threading have limited value. Upgraded the bike can be made pretty decent, but the upgrades will cost close to what you could get a better bike for, unless you happen to have a stash of parts in hand.

ah thats good to know thanks! pretty good investment since i spent 5 on it lol and yea the bike rides amazingly actually its really smooth and everything .. one more question would stripping the bike to repaint be a bad idea? im guessing i can still put that little emblem on the front but do you know if theres any way to get the decals and stuff? im not a bike person so sorry if im asking dumb question :P
From a valuation standpoint, stripping the frame and repainting it would be about the dumbest thing you could possibly do, short of backing your car over it.
Stripping and repainting is a lot of work, and costs quite a bit even if you do it yourself. Then you lose the original decals. All that original stuff is gone forever. Original Peugeots will continue to go up in value in the years to come, even lower end ones. Once you strip it of its original decals and finish (and spend time and money to do so), the value is gone. Replacement decals are not cheap, and they are reproductions, not original, so again, the value is less.
Your frame finish appears to be in very good shape, that is probably most of the value of this bike (it has low end cheap components, etc.). So you would be ruining the one part that gives this bike value, and spending time and money to do it.
