I have a 1982 Paramount I am deciding how to build up. It has a fresh paint job, and is in good condition. (don't worry, the decals were already gone when I acquired it). I got this bike at a steal for $200!! Current components include Campy Super Record crank, 80's Dura Ace rear, Campy front, Mavic Cosmic 8/9/10 speed wheels w/7 speed cassette, DA 9 speed bar end shifters. All parts are in great condition. I plan to flip this bike (assuming I don't fall in love with how it rides and keep it)
I am deciding whether I should try to make this as close to "original" as possible (i.e. early 80's high end parts), go full out and equip STI shifters and more modern derailleurs 9 or 10 speed (105 or Ultegra SL 10 speed most likely), or go on the cheap and leave it how it is and find some 7 speed downtube shifters. The bike built up as is weighs just over 19 lbs without seat, pedals, and chain.
How much do you think I could get for the bike with any of those 3 options? If I go full modern should I stay with the super record crank?
