Looking for enjoyable routes going north from Salem-Winston for a four day ride.. Any suggestions for routes going from Salem-Winston to Danville Va?

Where in Winston are you starting? Going out old 52 is a nice ride that goes up by Pilot mtn and near hanging rock state park. You could probably get over to Danville pretty easily from that part of the state. It's a really nice ride, but a little traffic heavy right near Winston, so depending on what part of the city you are leaving from could affect your best route to get there. I am riding all the way up hghway 8 soon, it goes in a similar direction, but further east. It's a bit more heavily trafficked, but really pretty. I will let you know how it goes.
