Road Cycling - Santini Gear

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I have located an importer who lives locally and met him. He will sell the top of the line Santini bib shorts to me at $110 off full retail. Thats $140NZD instead of $250. Should I go for these ones (took 3 years to design apparently) or are the lower models almost as good? I went to the Santini website but had trouble getting around, not very user friendly.
Thoughts are appreciated,
Brendon
Sounds like a great price. I'd go for it.
I looked at prices of similar quality bibs on a few websites and did the US dollars to NZ dollars conversion and the lowest price came out to be $155NZD, and that didn't include shipping.

what websites were these?

Which ones are you looking at? I bought a pair of the Twist Gel bibs. Only one 60 mile ride in them so far, but that one ride felt good. They are less bulky than the PI Microsensor bibs I have, which is a plus, but not quite as tight round the thighs, which isn't such a plus. However, they cost me $99 (us) and for that money I think they're going to work out very well.

Might be nice to try them on first, but yeah, that's a hell of a discount. He's legit, right? ;)
