I have the opportunity to pick up a 54cm yellow merckx alu team. It's all aluminum with no carbon. It comes with a king headset, profile fork, dura ace bottom bracket, american classic seatpost, and 3t mutant stem. He wants $550 for the whole thing. Is this a fair price? I mean, it's a four year old bike, and I've been told that aluminum bikes have a fatigue life. He says he's put about 4,000 miles on it, and that it hasn't been touched in 2 years.
opinions? I had wanted the look kg 486 before, but if i pick this up i might be able to get by with dropping a minimal amount of money and still get a decent bike.
