Foo - Golf clubs - need someting cheap/used

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Golf clubs- I need a set of cheapies... Ping eye2 or 3? Looking on craigslist, what should I pay for these? I'm hoping around $50.00 ?? Maybe 75.00?*

Check out "Play it Again", if there's one in your area. You can usually find a set or individual clubs pretty cheaply.

Find somewhere that sells used clubs that will let you try them out either at their driving range, or at worst one of those little nets. Blindly buying a set could be a big mistake, because you might not be able to hit them well at all.
With bikes, at least decent ones, you can learn to ride them. It seems with golf clubs you have to learn to hit them, but it's also very important to find a set you truly like.

I doubt youll find a set of Pings for $50
Tommy Armour 845's are great clubs for the money. I've seen sets sell for $100 at "Play it Again Sports" and other used golf places. I've seen people sell them for $75 on Craigslist. I'm sure you can talk someone down to $50.

I love my TA driver..8 degree loft....I can drive the ball almost 300yds with it. Only problem, when I slice its 300yds into the woods. :(

+eleventy billion on Play-It-Again (or similar). You can also cruise your local golf courses, talk to the pro shops. Also, you can get Ping-like knock-offs for purty cheap on the interwebs...

Do you know that golf clubs need to be the right size for each different player. Its not one size fits all. The shafts need to be the right length for each person.

I got my entire set with bag for $120 at Wally world 10yrs ago. I am at best a double boogie golfer. But I only play less than 10 times a year. Even with the cheap clubs its fun. 90% of golf is the smack talk, the other 10% is too serious.
