Foo - Road bike photography? How about this sport photography?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

There is no wrong forum for awesome photography, is there? A lot of cyclists do multiple sports. umd is into photography and lives in a surfing mecca. He'll dig the shots. I only got them because my son emailed me the link. I just thought I'd pass them on.

PS. You live in NH. I got some Dinotte lights from there. I used them an hour ago for an evening ride. Awesome. If more BFers used them they wouldn't have to complain about inattentive dangerous drivers, because these babies wake drivers up.

How do you take pictures out in the waves?

How do you take pictures out in the waves?

Historically with a Nikonos underwater 35 mm viewfinder cam or an SLR in an Ikelite plexiglas housing, now with DSLR in a plexiglas or alu housing with a plexi dome or flat plate. Inexpensive point-and-shoots with model-specific or plastic-bag housings can give you some nice shots and are easier to manage than 10+ pound pro cams.

In big surf, photographers can be dropped from helis, boats and waverunners, and picked up when they're done, and in small surf they swim from and to shore. Bodysurfing fins are std. equipment in both cases.

In massive offshore surf, shooting from runabouts, Zodiacs and waverunners is preferred because currents are too fast and powerful for swimming.
