Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and also road biking. I'm thinking of purchasing a Cannondale, R3000 fully equipped with Dura Ace, what would be a fair price to pay for the bike? and also, what is your opinion on this bike, both first hand and from what you know from experience?

Your input would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know the bike very well, but it will probably help others if you can tell us how old the bike is and what kind of group is on there - 8sp, 9sp, 10sp?

The bike is 9 years old, 2000,
Specs: 9spd, as stated b4, fully equipped with Dura Ace components, Mavic Ksyrium SSC hubs, Michelin pro race 3 tires... Hope that provides a better perspective as to what the bike is...

http://www.cannondale.com/bikes/00/cusa/model-0RR3K.html This is what you're looking at. Great first bike.

I see there are two on ebay. One for $1099 and the other for $900 and 0 bites. Reason: These guys are in dreamland.

I would say without looking at it... No more than $800 if it's in top shape and everything is still stock (i.e. nothing's been swapped out for Ultegra or 105) you're both happy. Economy is in your favor. Good luck!

Before you buy, make sure the bike fits you. If it doesn't fit right, you'll be wasting your money.

You can start with an online fit calculator but time with a good pro fitter might be worth the investment.
