I'm not able to ride this week due to being on-call and having to bring the van home.
No rides no commute and i miss it already hey i wonder if i could respond to a call on my bike.:lol:

What do you do and what's your response time?

I remember living in Okinawa and while out biking I'd see the firemen running and biking around a couple blocks repeatedly within sound of the fire station PA.

Probably stinks going in circles but better than not doing it at all.

If you had some latitude in response time you could get a bit further away from the van.

Maintenance Tech, we respond to fire, water (Flooding) and a lot of kicked in doors by the cops. time frame is ASAP especially the high rise buildings.

I've only been commuting a few months, but the days I can't ride my bike, due to daycare drop off/pickup or work issues, I feel antsy. I've even dropped my daughter off and gone home to get my bike on some days, just because it looked like a nice day to ride.

And if it's not pouring rain, it's a nice day to ride.
This is going to be a long winter.

Hmm... If it really kills you, can I have your bike? :D

:p

Hope the week is uneventful for you.

I know the feeling. I have to fill-in for someone else at work in another office the first week in October. They have no showers and the commute distance is 10 miles further than my normal commute, 30 vs. 20 miles. I probably won't be able to ride that week, and I'm dreading it.

Add a pannier with all your on-call stuff and attend to your work in Lycra, if need be.

I doubt a van would fit in a pannier.
