I see the Cannondale thread and noticed how the 2010 Raleigh offerings were improved, also, with the emphasis on higher end commuters.

Love the Alley Way. Clubman and Sojourn are nice, too.

The more relaxed geometry bikes look nice, too. Calisapel has a chain guard.:) IGH. Detour Deluxe is very well equipped commuter with an IGH now and integrated lights. I like their Roadster models, too.

I think it's great to see such commuting equipment like fenders, racks and lights becoming standard equipment on some bikes. They appear to be addressing the fact that some use bikes for transportation. Amazing!

Raleigh continues to impress. I only wish they could manage to get a larger network of dealers behind them.

I got a 2009 Roadster this spring. I love it! I'm seriously considering getting their 2010 Calispel i8 for the backup/crappy weather bike. Some of those other bikes look great, but I think I'm too short for their "men's" frames. (And too graceless to hoist my leg up that high anymore to get on them)

Our local Raleigh dealer is my favorite bike store guy. I love that he "gets" commuters. He's certainly not the closest LBS, but he's the only one I'll go to anymore, just because of the way he treats people.

Same bike plus fenders.

I don't like the brown either, but at least the seatpost and stem are silver instead of black

Last year's color was excellent, this year's is intensely ugly.

I like the rush hour.
Also think Jamis did a good job with the 2010 Beatnik

Are the Clubman or One Way available as a frameset?

I have 2 Raleigh's now, a Mojave 8.0 and a Sojourn. The Sojourn was the most recent purchase, and it is my favorite bike to ride out of the 5 I have. I picked the Sojourn over the Clubman last year because of the fenders and disc brakes. I like this years better than last year. I know the Record Ace isn't a commuter but it is a sweet bike also.

I also only go to the Raleigh LBS now. He is a great guy who treats me like I actually matter. It could be that I have now bought 8 bikes there in 3 years.

I agree, it's one sharp-looking bike.

I really want the new RX 1.0 cross bike. I like the stripes! Not available yet, though.

Actually, the first batch has already sold out. Not sure when more will be available though.

I know. The bikes seem to be well thought out for commuters. But the colors? The white One Way doesn't look too good on screen.

Love the Alley Way color though. That seems like an awesome bike. I wish they have a cheaper version of it though. $1500???

Then again, I just got my Detour Deluxe last month. Not good for me to look at new bikes. So maybe it's good that their colors got uglier in general. So I won't be so tempted

[Edit]: take back a bit what i said. the '10 Detour Deluxe's color is nicer. oh well.

I think the Record Ace looks pretty awesome, the paint is a little ho-hum for me though.

I'm a HUGE sucker for the Record Ace, but I don't know if I want to spend $1800 for a rather dedicated race bike...especially since half of my commute is on broken gravel and asphalt...

My wife says that if I get down to 200 from my current 245 I can get a Record Ace. I still am surprised she let me get 2 new bikes this year. I have some serious motivation now to shed those extra pounds. I don't think she believes I can do it that's why she made the deal. I love triples from Wendy's too much.

I still miss the first One-Way, in the colour that god intended, British Racing Green. Everything else has been a disappointment.

Wow, they really uglied up the One Way. Last years is beautiful. This white one is awful.

I love that so many of their bikes come with Brook's saddles. Record Ace looks like it comes with a swallow.

The British racing green is classic. Navy Blue was good too.

Why do manufacturers think they have to change colors every year? If it's a great color, why not just leave it for a few years?

I also loved the green One Way, but that Jamis Beatnik is calling my name! I really like the looks of the 2010. However, I may have to call my dealer and see what their asking for a 2009 leftover...

Why do I read these threads? :innocent:

I'm glad I purchased a 2009 Detour Deluxe. The 2010's IGH would be a downgrade for me, becuase I actually use the wide range of the 24spd 2009 gearing here in the San Francisco Bay area.

I do like the 2010's cromo fork and the deletion of the useless (for my 240Lb weight) suspension seatpost.

The new rack does not look as strong as the old one, but is better integrated.

The loss of the adjustable stem is another downgrade to me, as I was able to use the 2009's adjustment to tweak the fit of my bike to near perfection.

I don't know if the switch to Tektro's Novella mechanical disks is an upgrade or not. The Shimano M465s work fine for me, but they are my first experience with disks, and a happy one at that.

I do wish they had put a Brooks saddle on the bike, but then again, it probably would not have been the right Brooks for me.

I feel like the matte black color is a step in the wrong direction, but then again, maybe it keeps the bike from being too flashy. I like the 2009's matte espresso better, and the 2008's brown even better. I would have liked to have seen a British Racing Green.

The first One-Way (2007) was in black. You are likely referring to the 2008 model, which was the second year for that model afaik.

Pretty nice looking stuff. It's cool that some models are coming with brooks saddles. That one way is looking amazing.
