If you think about it if you were to take it one step further and modify it to use bmx wheels instead of the shopping cart casters it could actually be really usable.

Yeah, I bet those shopping cart wheels start to get scary at anything over 10 mph. But having a basket that big could be useful for a wide variety of things!

I'm really curious how that thing handles. Steering might be a pain!

I can't believe I'm saying this but I am actually seriously considering how to make it possible. It would be one amazing grocery run bike not to mention a great conversation piece.

I've even got a old clunker steel frame MTB that can I use for it :roflmao2:

#1 - fender on the rear wheel but on fenders on the car wheels? cutting corners is never a good option.

#2 - It is plausible that a Carbon Fiber cart could absorb some of the road turbulence and provide a luxurious ride.

As a fan of Trek but an absolute critic of their pricing policies, I value this hybrid at $2,000.

Maybe one of those newer "nice" folding granny carts would work. A lot of them have larger wheels on them and I think I've seen some with rubber tires.

Is that picture a fake/photoshop? I'd think that the front of the cart would pop up from the weight on the back. At least, that's what the carts did when I was a kid and tried to ride on them in the parking lots.

Just what I was thinking. It looks like he ran the cart handle through the stem. Which would pop the front up for sure. Are the forks even attached to anything? Either way someone should put this into production.

but its possible, too. The stem mounted to the handle of the shopping cart and the fork mounted to a lower crossmember would keep the front end of the cart down, if done right. Good shopping carts can be ridden empty...I used to work at a grocery store in highschool (when I was 180lbs) and it was no problem. Handling would be iffy, but fitting bigger wheels would help. Shopping carts are strong as hell by design...Migrant workers proved that to me (my GOD the amount of food they fit in them!)

After a second look, if this is edited they a pretty freakin' good job. All the shadows are accurate and the light source and angle of the cart is right. I vote this is real.

you would be amazed at what someone good with photoshop and with time on their hands can do. But yea it could be real...
