I've learned that Ride the City [http://ridethecity.com/] plans to launch in San Diego soon. I'm still a pretty new resident, but found that the route selections based on my limited knowledge was fair. I'm excited about the site since it avoid the standard freeway suggestion that is a default in google maps. Apparently the route suggestions will avoid hills and map out bike shops.
P.S. I am not affiliated with Ride the City in any way. Thought other residents could benefit from it.
