I recently rode a Trek 2200 (04') and was amazed at how smooth the ride was. Would anybody possibly be able to compare the 2200 to an 01' 2300? I'm looking at one on ebay and $795 seems like a good deal.

i tried an '01 2300 in my search for a roadbike as well. In comparison, the '04 2100 felt much more muted/smoother than the 2300. I think because the seat stays are carbon, it makes a very big difference. I would put the feel of harshness between a 2100 and a cannondale r600/r800. wish i could decide between the 2100 and allez elite :/

The only problem I have now is that when i get a bike, I'll have to buy pedals, shoes, and a computer for it..in addition to tubes, some kind of tire inflation system....and god knows what esle. I can see myself dropping 1700 total on this adventure very easily.
