Framebuilders - 29er tubesets?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I was looking at Nova and they are selling 29er tubesets at walk out the door prices. The tubing is available in a wide range of diameters, the lengths seem longer than on road tubesets, and the stays have fancy bends. So, never built a 29er, but why wouldn't one use this kind of thing to knock out a chromo touring bike for larger riders?

Can't think of any reason why not as long as the tube thickness and diameters are what you need. One caution with long tubes is to make sure you can get the miter (and lug if you are using them) on the thick butted section.

seems like a set of TrueTemper Verus from HJ is about the same price and you can pick and choose what you get. And unless I'm looking at it wrong, the OS road tubes from Nova are only $5 more. OTOH, there are lots of touring bikes that are similar to mountain bikes. If that's what you want, I'd check to see if I could get tires that I wanted to use for that. There are 26" touring tires that make sense with a lot of clearance, dunno about 700c tires.
