Northern California - SASO Frames

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm setting up to buy a used bike with a SASO frame tomorrow. From the pic I've seen the bike is absolutely effin' beautiful. All Durace, components and Carbon Spinergy wheels. Frankly I'm really excited to check it out and possibly buy it. But I don't really know much about SASO frames. I know they're made locally by Dale Saso but other than that I haven't heard much. Care to fill me in?

I had a Saso track frame for a long time. It was labeled "Specialized" because the racer who raced on it (Bobby Walthour) was sponsored by Specialized at the time. It was a pretty awesome bike. But, I haven't met Dale and don't know a lot about him, besides the fact that he's been building frames for a long time.
