For Sale - Pay it Forward thread....(free stuff)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

i have a old grand tour II? ross bike and the stem is really tall, and since i only really use it to "train" for my running i would like somthing shorter? But it has stem shifters? and i dont think i can get it really short but it defently has room to get a lot shorter?(if that made any sense?) And i dont know how this pay thing works but even if no one has it if they could piont me in the right direction i would really appreciate it. Thanks

Don't really understand your Question?
This is supposed to be a "free stuff" thread.. as in things people are willing to give away, usually for the cost of shipping..

Avenir Groove Lite gel saddle, used ~100mi
Lots of soft, plush gel! The only less than excellent condition part is the "Avenir" logo on the left side has begun to rub off (I've got pics showing portions of the "veni" from "avenir" that have come off). I put this saddle on my mountain bike this spring, but obviously never really rode it...
Pics always available! Who's interested?!

FREE LOUIS GARNEAU Mini Cycling Glove Keychain
GONE! The lucky winner is CHAD BENSON. Thanks for playing. :D
It's so cute! I think I picked this LG mini glove keychain up at a race or maybe Interbike a few years ago. It's a mini replica of a cycling glove. My photos aren't so great, but you can see there's terrycloth and lycra sections on the top and the palm is leather. It's basically a mini version of the real thing except the Velcro closure isn't functioning, it's sewn closed. The lycra part of the glove is dark, dark blue.
Anyhow, it's new/never used but I don't really need it so I figured one of my fellow cyclists would like to have it. It's yours FREE but you've gotta pay shipping ($1.75 USPS First Class within the U.S.).

Free carbon wrapped seatpost. 27.2- came on my Cannondale Capo and was swapped out for a non-poseur seatpost :) Clamp is pretty heavy, but if you're going for OCP and can't quite afford it, then this is perfect for you. I think I can ship to the lower 48 for $7.50. Paypal preferred or a suitcase full of cash would be acceptable.

Free Specialized aluminum stem. Looks to be about 100mm and about an 8 degree rise (this is an arbitrary estimate...the stem markings are "99 12", but I don't know if that corresponds to length and rise...)
Came off an '02 Rockhopper A1. Good condition, no real damage. email for pics
EDIT: 25.4 standard MTB clamp

GONE: Fork, headset, seatpost binder bolt. BB to be removed. Frame to be scrapped.
'87 Raleigh Technium frame and fork, 52 cm. It is most likely a the prestige model, but I'm not sure. This bike is built with 3 aluminum tubes bonded to steel lugs and rear triangle. The fork is not original - it's fairly heavy, probably high tensile steel, chromed with a set of eyelets. The headset is a Tange Levin. I'm leaving the BB, too.
The frame has downtube shifter bosses, internal cable routing for the rear brake, and horizontal droupouts with adjuster screws (though one is missing a fastener nut).
The one caveat is that there may be a problem with the frame. See this thread to make your own assessment: http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=236121&highlight=technium
In my very inexpert opinion, the damage looks mostly cosmetic.
If nothing else, you can still salvage it for the fork and headset.
Local pickup is in Northern NJ. I really don't think it's worth the cost of shipping.

I just came by these old steel wheels-not worth shipping-but free to anyone near New Orleans(Spiderman?). Most still spin, but some of the hubs are frozen. One is a Excel Mark 4 coaster hub(whatever a Mark 4 is, but it works and I could read it). Might be useful to someone. Another hub-still spins-might be suitable for a one speed-it is currently on a 16' rim.Heavy looking!
Luck,
Charlie
Oh! How did I miss this thread before! I have a bunch of things that came stock with my two bikes:
1) Canondale Slice Fork (carbon wings, alloy steerer, came with Canondale Capo)
2) Carbon-wrapped seatpost (came with Capo, swapped for real one)
3) Two seats, Canondale and Specialized, both came stock with my bikes and where swapped
4) Bullhorn handlebars (specialized) - kinda nice "vibration damping" setup, but swapped it for integrated TT set
5) Tourer pedals
6) Cabon ironman clip-on airbars (missing the armpads)
7) Road Stem (100mm)
8) Brake levers (no shifters, came with my Capo)
9) MTB shoes, size euro 39, happend to be small for me
That's more or less it. To be honest, I can not be arsed to ship it (otherwise I'd sell it on the Ebay or something), but it's a free-for-all for people in New York City.

I'm moving in a couple of weeks and have a *big ass box* of bike stuff I want to give away, since I'm already taking more than I should with me. It's largely parts pulled off of 80s bikes I refurbished... dia-compe brakes, suntour derailers, shifters, etc. A couple of handlebars, a few pedals, one 26" rim in good shape, a couple hubs, a few bottom brackets, a crankset, a rear rack, a mini-pump...
This is for local pickup only, in Beltsville, MD (just north of College Park!) I'm going away in a couple days, so this goes to anyone who wants to come pick it up on Monday night :)

I have a old Raleigh 3 Speed sitting in my garage that I never use.
If I remember correctly, it's from the 60's, it's yellow, has fenders, coittered cranks, a internal three speed hub in the back wheel. My guess is that it's a 58cm
Problems: Squwikes quite a bit, coming from either the BB or the crank. No seat. Also the handle bars were switched from the ones that came with it to drops. I don't have the original handle bars.
It will be too much to ship, but it's free for pick up in Toronto.

I have a 7spd tubular wheel set I need to get out of my apartment, they are built with shimano105 hubs (no skewers), Sachs 7spd cassette, and mavic tubular rims (m40? I need to check on this). They are a bit crusty, but should clean up okay, and seem pretty true with plenty of life left in them.
I can’t ship these, so pick-up is required (Brooklyn NY). If you want to get in contact, I’ve been having trouble with IMs, please email me at ben@brooklynunderground.org
