For Sale - Pay it Forward thread....(free stuff)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Do you guys remember 'Pay it Forward' the movie. I thought it might be a good idea for cycling. I've only been riding for a little over a month, but I have accumulated items that I'm sure that someone out there could use. Hopefully other people on this board will have items that they would like to donate as well. I'll start by offering a few items that I have laying around.
1 set of Campy Daytona Clipless peds. Used but in 7/10 shape. I do not have any cleats though. Sorry.
1 pair of Nike Road shoes red/black (not sure of the model, but they are listed on Ebay for about $50.00 new). Size 42. Used. 9/10 condition. These have only been worn three times.
1 pair of AXO Stinger Mountain Bike shoes. Yellow/black size 42. NEW in box.
I have much more, but I wanted to see what you guys thought about the idea first. All items are free, but the buyer needs to cover the shipping. Claim the product by posting to this thread. First post wins.
Thanks guys for giving me such great information on my new hobby,
David

Awesome idea. I was given my first road bike when I was in Jr. High. The only deal was that I had to give it to someone else when I could no longer use it. It is a great feeling to give things away and what a blessing to others who may not be able to afford it. I don't have anything to donate right now (I am just getting back into cycling after 10+ years away) but, remember the movie... when you get, you get to give. ;)
I would be interested in the pedals if PriO is not. That's what I have been saving my money for.
Thanks.
Btw, this is an excellent idea. Thanks for sharing it.
Ok. The Shoes and and peds are PriO's. You can send me a private message with your address and I will tell you how much the shipping will be.

AARRGGGH! That's twice in the past week I've missed out on free clipless pedals. I still have toe clips and I would like to move to clipless but can't afford it right now. Drat! :(

Wow, I was just thinking about doing this with some stuff I have laying around. I was waiting till I can take some pictures though, since they're not exactly in "new " condition. (Most are older parts.) Great idea! I was thinking about getting some clipless for the fixie I'm putting together. I'm paranoid about pedal scraping. :) I'll put my stuff up as soon as I can.

Anything left, DXS?
I have a few more items, but I'm waiting until I see some other people put some stuff up. I will list a few items that I'm thinking about putting up. These are NOT officially list yet so no one can claim them yet.
Campy Daytona front derailer.
Campy Chorus headset.
Ritchey Stem.
Plus a few more things I have laying around but I can't think of right now.

I think this is one of THE best ideas I've seen in a LONG time.
I'm definitely going to contribute.
I've got a set of Welgo clipless mountain pedals. 6/10. Silver, still work, pretty scraped up though.
I've got a couple pairs of CODA bar ends. Black.
I've got an older pair of Specialized Comp Mountain Shoes, size 41 (I think!) I'll have to check on these tonight or later this weekend. They were my wife's and a bit too big for her.
I've got some Kool Stop Canti Brake pads (Eagle 2's) with post type mounts in yellow. Still in the original packaging.
Coda mountain bike stem - very long. I think it's a 130 mm. Don't know the rise, but it's a pinch bolt, (i.e, not a removable face plate) so you have to slide the handlebars through. Polished Silver.
I know I've got a bunch of other stuff laying around.

I'd like to put a bid in for these. Will these work on a road bike, too?
Can you point me to a picture of these somewhere so I get and idea of what they look like; just for curiosity's sake.

Kinda like these; http://www.performancebike.com/shop/profile.cfm?SKU=14778&subcategory_ID=5240
They are Shimano SPD compatible. If I can find a set of cleats I'll throw those in as well, but chances are you'll have to buy your own.
I've used them on my road bike. I didn't want to buy another set of shoes for my road bike when I started riding the road again and just used my same shoes for both and they worked really well.

Cool idea. This year I started a Bicycle club at our church so that our members, young and old, could get together and ride on the Rails-to-Trails around our area once a month. A lot of the older people did not have bikes so people donated old Schwinns, Huffy's, etc... to me to fix up. I put new tires and tubes on them and made adjustments then just gave them away. A friend of mine had bought out a bicycle shop a long time ago and knew I was rebuilding bikes for people so he donated over a hundred tires and misc. parts to me. That was great. I've used up most all the popular tires and tubes now though. I ride old antique bikes myself since I can't afford any of the newer stuff but one thing I would like is a biking shirt. I've been watching ebay but they usually go higher than I can afford. So if anyone has a used men's large biking shirt they could donate I'd appreciate it. I'll take inventory and see what I have that I can send someones way as well but most of it is not high quality stuff. Thanks for a great idea.

Would it be possible to have a special Bike Forum for this, instead of this thread? Then people could go speciffically there instead of trying to find this thread....?

Happy Birthday old man, I don't need yellow brake pads, but I think I WANT them. I use the red Kools 'cause my island is a sub-tropical rainforest..and yes, sometimes it rally pours.
Q? What were the yellows intended for? Reds wet, black all condition, yellow dry?
I'll list stuff, I do keep all A-class race mtb parts I replace- find. Mostly mtb 1991-1993 Ritchey and later dirivitive design parts. I mention Ritchey as I think his machines went Norba champ 3? years in a row. Nice old gear 'cept it all got raced into the ground. I collect mostly steel.
I'll p.m about the pads if I get all color crazy again.
All b.s aside, I run red Koolstops 'cause they are red. Just happens I need wet pads front. I'm so vain about my bike...
Peace>jef.
Thanks guys, It feels good to give out stuff, especially the way things are today in the world....

Great idea, everyone. I'm afraid at this point I have nothing to offer, as I currently only own a Trek 820 (mountain bike) that I've put a pair of Nimbus EX's on, along with a helmet and a pair of gloves. I've been a runner for years, and have biked on ocassion before, but just recently began to get serious about cycling. I must admit, I'm becoming quite enamored, and find myself wanting to cut my runs short to go biking instead. I'm up to 10-15 miles at a time, at about 16-17mph, which I'm sure is slow by everyone else's standards, but compared to my running speeds of 8-10mph, I feel like I'm flying!
a2psyklnut, do you still have these available?

Jeff, the yellow was also merely for color coordination purposes. My wife's bike was purple with a Yellow Rock Shox fork. The yellow pads added a nice touch.
If you want them, send the addy.

Well, pm if you want, I guess some of this good idea is reletive to shipping cost and distace.
I live in B.C. Canada. Heck I have frames somebody can have, not gonna ship.
Saddle is in good condition.

I'd love the quill for my fixie project I'm working on! I was JUST looking at nashbar for one!
greatest idea ever, a while before I went into the air force I streamlined my junk box, I threw most away, though I did give away many of my parts at the time. However I did manage to make a bike from some of the junk a few years back and gave it to my cousin who needed a bike at the time.
great idea, big props to all of you!!!

I have a pair of wellgo clipless pedals. well used but they work just fine. I have a set of new clips to use with them. great for road (I used them on my road bike) or mtb.
just slip me a few bucks for shipping and they're yours.
this is a great idea. I have some other stuff that I've accumulated. I'd rather somebody get use out of them rather than have the stuff sit in my closet.
if you need a derailleur cable I have a handful of shimano ones.
PM me if you're interested.
All of these items have been claimed; repeat - all of these items have been claimed. I no longer have any of these items.
I paid it forward and I liked it. So I did it again. Any item I have listed on here has already been sent of to someone who could put it to use. I am still getting messages about these items, listed some 4 years ago.
I do not have these items in my possession.

This thing should be arranged like one of those for sale forums. You list what you have but once things are spoken for, go back and add the word "SOLD" or "TAKEN" next to the item in the initial offering. That way people don't have to keep searching around to know which items are still avaliable.

Sounds cool, I have some no-name V-brake levers. They seem to be pretty decent quality though. practically new condition. [V-BRAKES HAVE BEEN TAKEN]
[GRIPS AND SHIFTERS HAVE BEEN TAKEN]
Shimano REVOshift twist-shifters (Ci-deck compatible) non-indexed front (works fine with 3rings), 7sp indexed rear. I also have some Avenir grips to go with them. The grips are like new, and the shifters are, but the cables were trimmed to fit an 18" DB Outlook MTB (2004 model).
Kenda Klaw XT tires, barely used. I might have maybe 100 road miles on them if that.
[PEDALS HAVE BEEN TAKEN]
VP Metal pedals Black outer/yellow inner W/powergrips. The pedals are in 5/10 condition, the powergrips are brand new....I had them on order when I chose to buy a bike with clipless, so the powergrips are jsut sitting on the pedal, still waiting for final adjustments.
Most of these were all parts from my diamondback I converted to a commuter. The pedals are the only exception..they WERE going to go on the bike...but I'm working on selling the bike now, to make room for a roadbike :)

is the ring itself 15 cm wide??? If so, could you measure from one of the bolts to an imaginary line between the two across from it. the diameter should be 94mm or 74mm. If its 94mm I'll take it :D
Sorry to be troublesome :o

To measure from the centre of one hole to the opposite centres is 100mm, so I assume its 94mm.
