Besides riding up to Alpine Lake and up and over the Ebbets pass?
Road or Mountain? I'm trying to decide which to do this weekend.

You can take your road bike on Spicer Reservoir Road off of Highway 4. I think it's paved for at least 10 miles, going down to the river and up the south side. Should be quiet, low traffic, up and down, but the area can have a lot of mosquitos.

Bear Valley's known for mountain biking so that might be a better choice. The Bear Valley cycling web page has some useful ideas for both mountain & road...

You are going to spent weekend in Arnold? Sorry to hear that. :p I would just go up to Big Trees for some BBQ and hiking. :thumb:

I ended up riding up to Lake Alpine from Dorrington. The shoulders were very nice all the way from Dorrington up. Next time I'm planning on doing the Arnold Rim Trail (http://www.arnoldrimtrail.org).

I would have done the Spicer Road out-and-back but I didn't have enough water with me and didn't know if there would be any available.

Sounds like fun. There might be water at one of the campgrounds but I'm not positive. We normally backpack in the area and bring our filters.
