I'm one of the crazy few who is only using OTA ATSC Digital HDTV. I don't have, or want cable or satellite. Has anyone noticed that in DFW the NBC 5.3 alternate channel seems to play cycling events almost around the clock?

Is the channel called Universal Sports? Here in Houston Universal Sports is 39.2. I believe US is an NBC affiliate. They aired the Giro earlier this year, and recently aired the Vuelta in Spain. I think they are still doing repeats. They would air a 2-hour segment of the Vuelta and then repeat it 3 more times later in the day. US has been doing a lot cycling lately, but I think it just depends on what else is going on in the world of sports (not much else, it seems). They do a lot of swimming events also. Just whatever they can get the rights to, I suppose. They did not air any of the Tour de France. When the Tour of Missouri was going on, they gave daily updates that lasted like 1 minute.

As has been said, it's Universal Sports. I have Cable, and the channel is listed as an NBC affiliate, with KXAS call letters, but it self-identifies as Universal Sports.

I have Dish Network, and it does not look like they carry it.
Sucks, looks like I would really enjoy that channel.

it's a free-over-the-air broadcast channel... you don't get it from dish or cable... figure out how to turn your HDTV to channel 5-3 on broadcast.

Verizon FIOS carries Universal Sports, and I also get it with my HDTV antenna.
