Its going to be tough as hell... we still got Michigan @ home in two weeks, and then we have to play Wisky, MSU, and tOSU away. We've never beaten Michigan and tOSU in the same season, ever.

But we were also the first NCAA Div 1-A team to block two consecutive FG tries.

The coming weeks will see if we are a team of destiny... or not.

We just got lucky on Saturday night... although I think Iowa has the best defense in the country.

That was not a lucky win. Yes, there were some moments of luck that helped change the momentum. But that was a solid win based on great defense.

And I watching a 290lb DT run 53 yards with his Christmas present in his hands is a thing of beauty.

Go Hawks!

I suspect AC will be earning a nice NFL paycheck one of these days. That sort of play gets NFL scouts attention.

Dang PSU fans, the most gracious in the country. When I was an undergrad, we went into Penn St. and beat them on Homecoming. We were a-holes. As we left, every PSU fan we encountered (with a 100K+ stadium, thats a lot!) told us congratulations! I learned a lot about humility from their fans.:thumb::thumb:

(of course I am presuming someone who lives in Carlisle is a PSU fan!:thumb:)

Hell no, I am not a PSU fan. And for baselessly accusing me of being one, I retort with: Your momma is ugly.

So there.

I have been working down my list of people to mock today as I wander through the wilds of central PA. Just get in line, I will get to you.

I totally agree that PSU fans are amongst the classiest in college football.

I don't think I can honestly, as an Iowa grad, speak for our fanbase, but from what I've seen on message boards and heard via word of mouth, we treat our opponent's fans well when they come to Kinnick.

Fine then. Let me pick up the mantle of the classless Iowa fan.

We OWN Penn State!

Penn State is our little friend.

Hope we did not hurt any of your boys on Saturday.

Have fun in the Alamo bowl. I hear San Antonio is beautiful in mid December. And maybe you can rebook the same fabulous rooms that you had last year at the Motel 6.

Gee whiz, its too bad about that blown call on the reception, and the blind refs who never called holding, and all those injuries, and that little puff of wind on the punt, and looking past Iowa to the big game against USD next week, and the unfair expectations of a rabid fanbase, and that little bit of turf on the 35 that tripped up your halfback. Setting those things aside, you really won the game.

If we run the table up to going to Columbus, bit of info...

Iowa has never beaten Michigan and tOSU in the same year. Its either one, or the other.

If we manage to run the table and beat you guys and Minny, we'll be in the Mythical National Championship game... and probably lose to that ******bag Meyer. God I *hate* Urban Meyer.

Unless it comes down to duelling blocked field goals in overtime.

Our defense is awesome. I saw the '81 team in person. This defense is better and faster in an era of bigger and faster players. And... even though people bag on Stanzi, he's a better QB than what we had in '81. His stats would be a lot better if the WR's would catch the ball.

If our offense can play even a little better, and assuming the level of D stays where it is, be afraid. Very afraid.

I actually don't worry so much about Stanzi. He is not fantastic, but he will continue to settle in. And as he does, and if the freshmen backs keep running hard, then we appear pretty solid. Offensive line play has settled into being very strong. Defense has been amazing. Even the punter is great.

Before the season I wished we did not have such a strong schedule. Now that we appear to be legit, I am glad it is so strong. If we continue to play well, then we might be in uncharted territory for Iowa this Winter.

Donahue is an amazing weapon; he'll be earning a nice paycheck punting in the NFL someday.

With the exception of kickoff coverage, our special teams have been great.

Stanzi is not making stupid mistakes this year. No fumbles (fingers crossed so far), he's eating the ball when there no receivers, and that QB sneak he did - that was not audibled, he saw the green and instead of handing off the ball went for it - was a helluva smart play.

He doesn't seem to get rattled easily, and I'll take that over a guy that's either hot or not.

Anything can happen. Rooting for Iowa teaches one that the hard way. And again. And again. Stupid Western Michigan. And again.

But still: Are you serious?
