Hi all

This is the first time I have ever written on any forum and therefore please accept my apologise for probably asking a question that has been asked a million times.

I am looking to purchase a TT bike and have a budget upto £3,500. I am currently riding a Scott CR1 Team XS / 49cm as I am 5ft 4 inches in height.

I have been doing Triathlon for a few years annd have undertaken sprint events through to the Vitruvian in 2009.

What bike would people recommend and size and where from???? My knowledge is fairly limited and therefore I am not confident in building a bike myself.

Thanks for any advice given.

There is a very good sticky on the top of this forum on the topic. I personally like the value of getting a Cervelo, if there are bike shops in your area, pick up the phone booth and call. They should size you there.

Priorities in order as I would put them...other people may say different
1) FIT
2) feel/ride - how it feels/handles
3a) price - sometimes a cheaper bike+an aero-wheelset+aerohelmet will be better than the more expensive bike...also a wetsuit if u don't have one
3b) components - I've seen some bikes with a Sora/Tiagra mix for 1500 USD!!! no bike in at that price should be below 105 IMO
4) color and preference

Above all, make sure you're buying a bike that fits YOU, not just any bike and hoping that it can be set up to work... this gets to be especially important the short you get as the selection gets to be pretty slim...

Do you have a bike fitter somewhere in your area? Sign up for a new bike fit and get the measurements and THEN buy a bike according to those measurements.

Get in touch with the Grantham tri club, and see if they have a local bike shop they can recommend.
