In prep for Foxy's, I'm going to ride some of the local hills, and some rollers. I also want to try them out with my new compact crankset!

For those of you interested, the hills are: Iron Point, Beatty, Wilson, Serrano 1 & 2. Iron Point hits 10%, but mostly 9. Beatty hits 16% and there's a 12% false flat (you have to see it to believe it), Wilson hits 12%, both Serrano climbs hit 9%.

So 5 of them, and some base miles. Around 80 miles, 4000 feet or so. All of the hills are somewhat on the steep side, but none are real long. We'll regroup at the top of each hill and at key turns.

I'm not planning on riding particularly fast, I'm trying to find a good pace for me for Foxy's.

Starting at 8:15 at the parking lot just outside Hagan Park in Rancho Cordova. Or we can pick you up anywhere en route.

There are a LOT of bailouts on this ride. One after each hill. Just turn North and head to Green Valley to head back or meet up with the rest of the group when we get there. The last hill can be skipped by just waiting until we climb up and then descend back down.

Pending how we feel, the Loomis Loop can be added. It's about a 25 mile addition with rollers. No significant climbs.

ARBT to and from the start/end points of this ride. Here's the 5 hills part, without the Loomis Loop and without the ARBT parts. http://www.mapmyride.com/route/us/ca/folsom/767125410224739547

Bring snacks, money for a lunch break, 2 water bottles should be enough.

Weather forecast is currently mid 80's and sunny. Steady rain will cancel, but I'm going to ride if it's sprinkling. Though I might need to get some SKB Raceblades for the bike.

Anyone interested?

Anthoni, hope everything goes well with the new gear!

Chuck, hope you can make it. You'd probably be well served to get those clipless pedals/shoes beforehand.

We're ducking off the trail at the Outlet shops in Folsom and heading up Iron Point. So, right after the Aquatic Center.

Chuck, what's the Fair Oaks foot bridge? I expect we'll be passing Sunrise by around 8:35 and the FH 10 minutes later. Unless the folks meeting in Rancho are early, then we'll start out early. So could be more like 8:20 to Sunrise. Won't know until tomorrow.

It is Right next to Sunrise, where is the park from Sunrise on the ARBT

JoelS

About 4 miles down on the left. It's the one with the train and playground. We'll pick you up at Sunrise by the ARBT. Be there by about 8:30. If it's cool, I'll have on a blue jacket. Otherwise a blue jersey (maybe armwarmers). Blue helmet. All black bike. It would be hard to miss my beard. It precedes me

Bring some snacks and money for buying lunch.
