I bought this Miyata for $10. I cleaned it up and reconditioned everything and it's in very good shape. Looks like all original components. I changed the handle bars to 13" high nbars as I am an older rider and can't do the racing bars anymore. I was wondering what the original price was for this bike. It rides and shifts like a dream. I've attached some pictures. As far as I can tell, it's from 1995, 50th Anniversary Edition.
Any infor would be appreciated.

Best regards,
Doug

it appears to be a 1987... anyway.. for the price of happy meal, it matters little

Take a look at the vintage Miyata catalogs. If you return the bike to original condition, and ready to ride, it would be worth something.

With the ape hangers, it would take a very special buyer.

Rides like a dream? I would be scared to ride those bars down a steep hill.

doug didn't mention that he wanted to flip it, and specifically mentioned why he wanted those bars. my impression is that he just wants to get an idea of what kind of a steal he got (and he sure did get a steal!). i'm sure if he wanted to flip it he'd have kept it original. if those are the bars that allow him to ride it comfortably, so be it, and more power to him.

Thanks Southpaw,

Nope, have no intentions of flipping the bike. Like you say, if so I would have kept the original bars on it. I have a nice Claridge set-up the same way and no one wants it because it has the old person bars lol. I'll keep them both incase someone visits that wants to ride with wife and I.

Thanks for all the input guys. Sounds like maybe it sold new for ~$600, on sale for $300. For $10, I have a nice ride that I didn't have before.

Best regards,
Doug
