Commuting - Big dogs

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

"If you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch."
Sorry, everyone...
(I can't ride my bike on the porch.)

I got chased by a big dog today. I stopped and he turned out to be a big sook.
I find it effective to wear a dog costume while cycling. Since I'm bigger than the biggest dog, they pretty well leave me alone.
In China it's the humans who chase the dogs.:p

Do they come with a chamois insert in them?

No, you just wear cycling shorts underneath.
Caution: Dry-clean only....
The most effective anti-dog measure I have employed is to hold my water bottle high in the air while spraying the dog. Someone once told me they interpret this as a huge animal marking territory and are conditioned to get out of the way.

Don't think I'll ask for a drink from your water bottle.

Big dogs seem to be driving Big cars these days...
In MIlwaukee we have a profesional basketball team that thinks it's better than it is. Our "star" is "Big Dog." The trading deadline is over and we still have the Big Dog. Does anybody want him?

Now that's the kind of dog for me! :)
Actually, I like dogs just fine--it's just that I would rather they don't look at me and my bike as potential kibble.
