Howdy folks,
My wife and I will be in Nashville for a couple days in early October recording our band's 2nd album with our Atlanta expat guitarist. It was originally going to be a long weekend vacation but the bloody album's still not done. So we're eating some vacation time to work on it. Alas.
Anyway, bikes: we want to do a shortish bike tour/camping trip starting from Nashville, technically Madison. We're hoping to start out on a Friday early-mid afternoon, do 40-70 miles (depending on how cool the place we're going is and how hilly it is...), camp out Friday and Saturday while doing relaxing, camping-type activities (easy hiking, swimming, paddling, sleeping, hanging out, avoiding cell phones/technology/responsibility...) and head back to the car in Madison on Sunday morning and then 4-wheel it back to ATL in time for a good night's sleep and the Monday-morning grind.
The most we've seen of Nashville is the inside of our guitar player's recording studio. We don't know where to go or how to get there. Is there a state or national park that would fit the bill? Help!
